Anyone who met Gale quickly became a friend through his witty jokes and lovable demeanor. Gale battled cancer for many years, which ultimately took him from his friends and family. No matter what Gale battled, he greeted everyone with the same lovable spirit that he spread through his last days. A visitation will be held Friday, April 19th from 4-6pm with a funeral service to follow. All services will be held at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way Ames, IA. In honor of his military service in the Navy, he will be laid to rest at the Iowa Veteran's Cemetery in Van Meter, IA, Wednesday, April 24th at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials received will be donated to the William R. Bliss Cancer Center at Mary Greeley. His stories will live on through his friends, family, and everyone blessed by his presence. He was quick with one liners and our favorite is, "What's the difference between a duck?
