Donald W. Johnson, 76, of Wever, died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at his residence.
Born February 23, 1943 in Ft. Madison, Iowa, he was the son of Leo and Evelyn Johnson. He married Cheryl K. Braun on June 12, 1965 in Burlington.
He graduated from Burlington High School. He was a production worker, a welder at J.I. Case, and owned an antique shop.
He collected coin operated machines and loved antiquing.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Cheryl Johnson of Wever, IA; three children, JoAnne (Matthew) Farrier of Palmyra, MO, Douglas (Karla) Johnson of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Angela (Terry) Thurman of Pea Ridge, AR; fifteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren with two on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Dale Hemmie.
According to his wishes, cremation has been accorded.
The family will receive friends 5:30-6:00 p.m., April 19th at New Life Family Church, 13267 N. Highway 61, Burlington, IA, with a reception to follow.
