Keith A. Johnson of Duluth, Minn.; and ten grandchildren, Jaime, Dana and Erik Palma, Alyssa and Olyvia Diaz, and Elle, Lauren and Maxwell Johnson, Elizabeth and Kathryn Horner; and his special friend and companion, Carolyn White. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Patricia Griesbach; his wife, Betty; and his brother, Donald. Bob is remembered as a loving husband, caring father and grandfather, and a very active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Madison, and in his and community in a variety of volunteer initiatives, which include Madison West Kiwanis, SCORE counselor, docent at Monona Terrace, member of the Lung Cancer Task Force of the UW Carbone Cancer Center, and Meals on Wheels delivery. Bob received the Madison Rotary Club Community Service Award in 2007. A celebration of Bob's life will be conducted on Sunday Sept. 12, 2010, 2:00 pm, at COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 326 S. Segoe Rd., Madison. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 11, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. Bob's family wishes to thank the staff at Meriter Hospital Intensive Care Unit for their compassionate care. Memorials can be given to Covenant Presbyterian Church, Madison; Attic Angel Association, Madison; or the UW Carbone Cancer Center for lung cancer research.
