Carol Jean Marie Botek
On May 22, 2019, another angel was claimed. Carol Jean Botek (nee Brooks) passed away suddenly in Florida just shy of her 73rd birthday. Loved and admired by her brother Eugene and wife Pat; sister Nadine McKenzie and her husband Michael; her children Angela, Stephen and Simone, and in-laws David, Kari, and Stephen. Greatly cherished by her grandchildren Justin, Meghan, Nicholas, Maia, Kai and Chelsea, and her nephews Andrew, Colin, Adam, and Matthew. Carol was predeceased by her husband Franz, mother Gloria Collins and father Eric Brooks. Carol was born in Kingston, Jamaica on May 28, 1946, and resided in the US for the past 18 years. Her huge spirit, unlimited generosity, and genuinely large heart will be sorely missed by all who knew her. A thanksgiving service will be held at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Pompano Beach, Florida on Saturday, June 8th at 10:30 am. The family welcomes attendees to wear cheerful colors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Susan G. Koman Foundation in her name.
