Henry O. Leikness

Sun Prairie/Stoughton- Henry O. Leikness, age 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Meriter Hospital.  He was born in Stoughton on March 25, 1929 the first of 15 children to Henry and Olivia (Offerdahl) Leikness.  On July 25, 1949 Henry married Arlene Thompson at First Lutheran Church in Stoughton.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Arlene; son, Tom "Grinner" (Sue) Leikness of Sun Prairie; two grandchildren, Tammy Sue (Russell) Travis of Irving, TX and Toby Leikness of Denton, TX; great grandson, Thomas Michael Travis; and many siblings, relatives and friends.  Henry was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2009 at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton with Rev. Richard Halom officiating.  Private burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery South.  Friends may greet the family from noon until the time of service on Friday.  A special thank you to Dr. Robert Olson and to the staff of Meriter Hospital for their care of Henry.
