adison. Sally loved gardening, bird-watching, reading, doing puzzles, crafts, and working with children and the elderly. She was devoted to God and her family. She is survived by her children, James (Charlene) of Black River Falls, Elaine (David) Mell of La Valle, Dennis of Madison, Janet (Steven) Buechner of Fitchburg, William (Diane) of Madison, and Karen of Cottage Grove; her brother, Vernon ( Alice) of Cottage Grove; sisters, Lucille (Pete) Smith of Chesterfield, Mo., and Shirley Holford of Madison; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Sally was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harlan on Dec. 9, 1982; by her sisters, Elizabeth Davis, Petronella Meutz, Jean Derra and Dorothy Gillespie; and great-granddaughter, Katelyn Matz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends may call at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with Rosary Service at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, or at the church an hour before the service. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
