Sun Prairie-William R. Phillips, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Trinity Senior Homes Assisted Living, Madison. He was born on November 26, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI the son of William & Elizabeth (Battenberg) Phillips. He was united in marriage with Dorothy Lough on February 2, 1947 in Kenosha and they shared nearly 60 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on January 29, 2007. William was a longtime resident of Sun Prairie. He was employed with WI Telephone as a lineman for 35 years retiring in 1982. Mr. Phillips was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Navy. He was a longtime member of the Friends of the Library, Sun Prairie. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia and Jeri Phillips, Sun Prairie; his grandsons, Chris (Stephanie) Zimmerman, Madison and Michael Zimmerman, Lombard, IL; 5 great-grandchildren; other relatives. Honoring his wishes no formal visitation or funeral will be held.
