John Sayre Raymond

Madison -- John Sayre "Jack" Raymond, age 92, died at his home in Madison on Saturday, February 20, 2010.   Jack was born in 1917 on a farm near the village of Fulton in Rock County.   After graduating from Edgerton High School, he enlisted in the United States Army during WWII.   He was wounded in Italy and carried shrapnel on his back and legs for the rest of his life.   After the war, Jack attended the University of Wisconsin under the GI Bill.   In an accounting class he met Marjorie Price from Edgerton.   They later married and in 1953 the moved to Meyer Avenue in Westmorland.   Jack worked initially as an accountant for the Conservation Department and later as Head Accountant for the Motor Vehicle Department.   Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie, three children; John (Bonnie) Raymond Ph.D. of Melrose, MA, Richard Raymond Ph.D. of Ann Arbor, MI, and Linda Powers MD of Chestnut Hill, MA, four grandchildren; Jennifer (Matt) Ender, D.
