Elsie Frances Lynette Miller WierElsie Wier, homemaker & beautician passed away peacefully on January 30, 2008, in Round Rock, Texas, at the age 89 after a long illness. She was born February 12, 1918, in Bastrop County, Texas, to parents, Friedrich and Sophie Miller. Elsie grew up in Elroy, Texas, and later moved with her family to a ranch in Oak Hill. Elsie married Theodore Gordon Wier on March 2 1940, and they lived in Austin before eventually settling in Manor, Texas where their children were raised. She was a long time member of New Sweden Lutheran Church, and served on various committees and civic organizations in the community. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Gordon Wier; parents, brother, PFC Bennie Miller; sisters, Lilly Jentsch, Annie Hielscher, Doris Vogelsang, and Rosalie Rice. Elsie is survived by sister, Eleanor Montfort and husband Rodney, of Austin; brother-in-law, Ivan Vogelsang of Burlington; four children, Gordon and wife, Virginia Malott Wier of Elgin; Carolynn Wier Lamb of Houston; Stephen and wife, Bobbie Wier of Round Rock and Chrys and wife, Laurie Wier of Georgetown; Grandchildren, Anthony Wier, Kevin Wier, Allison Olofson and husban...[more]
