Stanley Clay ?Stan? Cummins age 73 of Maquoketa Iowa died Wednesday morning January 23 2002 at his home in Maquoketa Iowa.



Memorial Services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday January 26 2002 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa with Father Thomas McDermott of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Friday January 25 2002 at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery Maquoketa Iowa where military rites will be accorded by the Maquoketa American Legion Post #75 Andrew AMVETS Post #62 and the Maquoketa VFW Post #3633 O?Connor-Regenwether.



Stanley Clay ?Stan? Cummins was born on August 18 1928 in Potosi Wisconsin to Guerdon Cummins and May Knapp Cummins. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He married Joyce Davis on February 11 1951 in Maquoketa Iowa. He then married Shirley Brown on August 26 1977 in Galesburg Illinois.



Mr. Cummins moved to Maquoketa in 1942. He had been owner and operator of Cummins DX Station in Maquoketa for several years. He then worked as a foreman...[more]

Clinton Engines in Maquoketa for 14 years and then as a machinist at Caterpillar in Mt. Joy retiring in 1987.



Mr. Cummins was a member of the Maquoketa American Legion Post #75. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting boating fishing and camping. He was also an accomplished stock car driver and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.



He is Survived by- His Wife- Shirley Cummins of Maquoketa IA; 1 Daughter- Margo(Mrs. Rusty) Park of Bradenton FL; 1 Son- Tony(Stacy) Cummins of Sarasota FL; 2 Step-Daughters- Pam(Mrs. Dean) Spain & Debra(Mrs. Russ) Hart both of Maquoketa IA; 2 Step-Sons- Dennis(Kathy) Appelhans of Monmouth IA & Joe Appelhans of Ankeny IA; 10 Grandchildren & 4 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
