Karen A. Sheil passed away peacefully on Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg after a courageous battle against cancer. Karen was born on February 21, 1952 at Madison General Hospital in Madison, WI. The daughter of William H. and Lois (Sampson) Spahn. Karen married Greg Sheil in 1991.
Karen was a fun loving spirit who brought joy wherever she went. She cared deeply about family and friends and loved all living creatures.
In the summer Karen could be seen driving her "SUNDAES ON WHEELS" ice cream truck and became known as "the ice cream lady" who put smiles on all the children's faces. Karen was a waitress at several top restaurants in the Madison area.
Karen loved horses, dogs and her Koi fish which she enjoyed feeding daily. She loved cruising to the islands and jetting off to Las Vegas for fun weekends with family and friends. Karen was always the life of the party and believed life should be celebrated.

She was preceded in death by her mother Lois A. (Sampson) Spahn and Tasha and Tucker (her favorite dogs).
A celebration of Karen's life will be held from 5:00 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. with a service following at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace in Sun Prairie, WI on Tuesday, January 25, 2011.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center for the kindness and comfort they provided for Karen. Karen was loved deeply and will be missed by all whose lives she enriched.
