Lois M. Thies

Lois M. Thies, age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Meriter Hospital.   She was born September 12, 1925 the daughter of Carl and Minnie (Ryan) Landberg in Glenwood City, WI.   Lois was a 1943 graduate of Glenwood City High School, and later received her teaching degree from River Falls State Teachers College, and her Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.   Lois was united in marriage to Robert Thies in 1958 in Glenwood City.     She was a very active and devoted member of   Bethel Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Bethel Alter Guild, Bethel XYZ, and the Beth Keyes Circle.   Lois is survived by her loving daughters, Barb (Sam) Steele, and Karin Thies, her granddaughter Tamara Thies, brother, Don (Dianne) Landberg, sister, Carol (Roy) Larson, and sister-in-laws; Lois D. al service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH,   312 Wisconsin Ave., Madison,   with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service at church.   Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.   In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, or Meriter Foundation Spiritual Care.   The Family would like to give special thanks to Chaplain Jon Larssen of Meriter Hospital for his compassionate care.
