Stoughton- Irving R. Thompson, age 85, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 at his home. Irv was born January 23, 1923 to Albert and Ella (Gullickson) Thompson. Irving served in World War II, in the Army, honorably discharged in 1945. Irving was united in marriage with Maxine Maves of Edgerton on October 25, 1947. He worked at Badger Petroleum of McFarland as a fuel truck driver. He later managed McFarland Tank farms, from start to present which is currently CHS Pipeline Terminal. Irv is survived by his wife, Maxine; daughter, Teresa (Dan) Pirkl of Stoughton; two grandsons, Derek and Geoffrey, both of Stoughton; his sisters, Virginia Harrison, Lorraine (Carl) Dryeson, Dorothy (Fred) Schumann and sister-in-law, Mary Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Arnold. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 13, 2008 at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton.
