Anthony Vasile

Anthony S. Vasile, age 88, of Lakewood passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Hampton Ridge Healthcare and Rehab Center, Toms River. Born in New York City, NY, he grew up on Elizabeth Street in Little Italy and later moved to Bayonne. He lived there from 1982 until moving to Melbourne, FL in 1991, and settled in Leisure Village in 2016. Mr. Vasile was a longshoreman for over forty years, affiliated with the International Longshoreman's Association and the New York Shipping Association until retiring in 1991. He loved music and cooking, but loved his wife, children and grandchildren above all. He is survived by his wife, Carole; his children, Celeste Monforte and her husband Peter of Miami, FL, Lisa Vasile of Manhattan, Holly Martin of Veira, FL, Dan Martin and his wife Becky of Tinton Falls, Sean Martin and his wife Donna of Seattle, and Kurt Martin of Highlands; his grandchildren, Peter Monforte, Kayley Romano, and D.J., Ryan, Matthew and Melissa Martin; and Tatiana and Remy, his pets.
