William R. Grove, 64, of Lorain, died Sunday July 21, 2019 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain after losing his battle with cancer.

He was born August 19, 1954 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain and Cleveland resident.

William served with the US Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

He worked at US Steel for over 40 years before retiring.  He was a loving husband and father, a history buff, an avid Godzilla fan and enjoyed collecting autographs of famous celebrities.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years Carol M. Grove (nee Reese), daughter Carolyn Grove, sisters: Linda Kuhn and Peggy Nelson (Gary) and brother Ron Grove (Donna).   He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert R. & Myrtle Patricia Grove (nee Russell).
