Arcelia Joann Needs, 87, of Cooper City, passed away on July 24, 2019 at VITAS Hospice. Joann was born in Zanesville, Ohio to Paul G. and Mary E. Settles (Wright) on December 24, 1931. She was a graduate in the class of 1950 at Saint Thomas High School. Joann married Robert Eugene Needs, a U.S Marine, and shared sixty years of love and friendship raising their three loving children before he preceded her in death on May 29, 2012. Upon moving to Hollywood, Florida, Joann helped open and manage Bob's Plumbing Service for twenty years, then supported the community as her Husband served as a Deputy Sheriff for St. Lucie County, in Ft. Pierce. Joann is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Lavonne Mautz and brother Jim Settles. Joann loved spending time with her children and is survived by her son, David Needs, daughter, Sherry Needs Fisher and daughter Debbie Needs Long (Fiancé Joe Tiso). Mrs. Needs found great joy in seeing and hearing about the lives of her seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. spent there. Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, July 30th at Fred Hunter Memorial Services, 6301 Taft Street in Hollywood. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Wednesday, August 1st at Oasis Church, 12201 SW 14th Street in Pembroke Pines with Pastor Guy Melton officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens North Cemetery, 3001 North 72nd Avenue in Hollywood. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
