Donald Woodburn

Waunakee-Donald Woodburn age 84, died on Monday May 3, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center in Fitchburg. He was born on Dec 6, 1925 to Millard and Charlotte (Beck) Woodburn. He married the former Ann Ripp and they recently celebrated their 56 wedding anniversary. He retired from the US Post office in Madison in 1993 and was a member of their Union. He enjoyed raising and selling pumpkins and sweet corn every Fall. He also like to watch Nascar events. He loved his two cats Whitie and Lodi. He was a member of St John's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife Ann, two sons Mark (Jessica) and Mike (Lori). Four special grandchildren; Olivia, Sophie, John, and Elizabeth. One sister Ruth (Gary) Ziegler; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Betty and Mary Ann Woodburn, George Marx, Cyril (Irene) Ripp, Aggie Ganser, Viola Mabis, George (Donna) Ripp and John Ripp and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Charles and Harold and brothers and sisters-in-law; Marie Pertzborn, Betty Marx, Sally Miller, Clarence Ganser and Don Mabis. I like to walk with Grandpa, His steps are short like mine. He doesn't say "Now hurry up!" He always takes his time. Most people have to hurry, they do not stop and see. I'm glad that God made Grandpa "Unrushed and young like me.
