Sun Prairie/Marshall William F. Zamzow age 99 passed away on Saturday April 3, 2010 at Waunakee Manor Nursing Facility. Bill was born October 16, 1910 on the Zamzow farm near Portage, the son of William and Emma Zamzow.

Bill was united in marriage to Bernice Van Wormer on November 9, 1935. They had 74 wonderful years together as husband and wife. Bill owned Bill & Jacks Garage in Portage, retiring in 1980. His grandson Steve O'Malley continues with the business today. Bill and Bernice moved from Portage to Marshall in 1988 and then to Sun Prairie in 2006 where they resided at Prairie Gardens Assisted Living. Bill spent the last year of his life at Waunakee Manor in Waunakee. He is survived by his daughter Mary (Errol) Polenske; grandchildren, Steve (Karen) O'Malley; Jim (Mary) O'Malley; Jeff (Lisa) Polenske; Jennifer (Jeff) Justman; great grandchildren Kim, Jacob, Shae, Hannah, Emma, Connor, Cody, Chase and McKaylie; other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Bernice, a daughter Gail, his parents, a brother and five sisters.

A memorial service will be held on Monday April 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church 702 North St. in Sun Prairie with the Rev. Scott Carlson officiating. A time of gathering will be held on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family extends a special thank you to the staff from Prairie Gardens and Waunakee Manor for their love and compassion to Bill.
