Donald L. Bode

Donald "Don" Louis Bode died on August 15, 2019, at Rochester East Health Services, where he resided. Donald was born on February 1, 1928, in Algona, IA., the son of Louis and Marie (Lamuth) Bode. In 1947, their family moved to Elma, IA, where he enjoyed working on the family farm. Donald was drafted into the Korean War and served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. On September 28, 1963, he married Inez Flugge in Elma, Iowa. They began their family in Charles City, Iowa, later moving to Rochester to be closer to his parents. He always missed life on the farm. Don worked various mechanical jobs and retired from Crenlo Inc of Rochester. Don is survived by his wife Inez and their children., Brenda of Utica; Darwin of Chatfield; Donna of Rochester; Melissa of Glenda, AZ; Sharlet of Kasson; Douglas of Rochester and Janelle of Rochester; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, one sister Joan Marr of New Mexico and a sister-in-law Mary (Galligan) Bode of Rochester.
