Gary S. Houston, 72, of Monmouth, Iowa, died on Saturday afternoon, April 2, 2011, at the Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, in Davenport, Iowa. Friends and family may gather for "One Last Party" in remembrance of Gary on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, from 4 to 7 P.M. in "The Bistro" at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa. Public graveside services and burial will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, April 7, 2011, from the Canton, Iowa Cemetery. Gary Steven Houston was born on March 27, 1939 in Jackson County, Iowa, to Thomas and Lola (Bickford) Houston. He was educated in Jackson County country schools. He married Linda Fall in Jones County, Iowa. They divorced. He then married Lois Hare in Rock Island, Illinois and she preceded him in death in March of 1987. On October 14, 2004 in Dubuque County, Iowa he married Janice Conley. Gary had worked as a crane operator for Local #55 out of Des Moines, Iowa for 39 years. He retired in 2001. Gary enjoyed going to NASCAR races with his favorite driver being Tony Stewart. He also enjoyed going to the casino, playing euchre and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. ived by his wife, Janice Houston of Monmouth, Iowa; his children, Candie Buresh of Grapevine, TX, and Steven (Michele) Houston of Wyoming, IA; step-children, Trent (Anita) Driscoll of Seven Points, TX, Jay (Candie) Driscoll of Ennis, TX, and Theresa Basinger of Moline, IL; 5 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 8 step-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Donald Houston of Hale, IA, and Glen Houston of Clinton, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lois, brothers, Darrell and Thomas, sisters, Delores and Beth, and a grandson. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Gary S.
