Hazel Swenson

Hazel R. Swenson was born on June 6, 1926, in Windom, Minnesota to the late Abe and Rose (Kalash) Swenson. She was baptized at the former Hauges Lutheran Church near Bergen and received her early education in rural Jackson County and completed her education in the Windom Public Schools. Hazel was united in marriage to Howard W. Ketzenberg on August 31, 1944, while stationed in Florida in the military. From this marriage, two children were born, Linda and Tim. Several years later, this marriage was dissolved. Through the years, Hazel was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She lived around Windom most of her life and helped furnish the Windom Airport where it was first built. For two years, from 1985-1987, Hazel moved to California to be closer to her daughter before she came back to Worthington, Minnesota. In 2006, due to health reasons, she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom where she continued to live until her passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2011, at the wonderful age of 84.
