Leonard "Buzz" Holck

Leonard "Buzz" Edward Holck was born on October 31, 1921, to Carl and Theresa (Hilaridis) Holck on a farm north of Jeffers, Minnesota. He was baptized at home and attended country school in Amo Township, Minnesota. On March 28, 1943, Buzz was united in marriage to Helen Boaz at her parents' home in Amo Township. This marriage was blessed with three children, Sandra, Wayne, and Rhonda. After marriage, Buzz and Helen lived on a farm near Storden, Minnesota. Buzz farmed for many years until 1967. He then started working as a custodian and school bus driver for Storden Public Schools. Helen passed away on September 23, 2008. After her death, Buzz continued living in Storden and eventually moved to Mikkelson Manor in Windom. In May of 2010, Buzz moved to the Good Samaritan Society - Sogge Memorial in Windom where he lived until passing away on Monday, April 4, 2011 at the age of 89. Buzz was a member of the Amo United Methodist Church where he was an usher and on the church council. He was involved with the Storden Senior Center and a volunteer driver for RSVP. r. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, traveling, sightseeing, talking to people, and most of all loved being with his family. Buzz is survived by two daughters, Sandra Lacher and her husband, Bruce, of Princeton and Rhonda Holck of Pennock; one son, Wayne Holck and his wife, Sandy, of Alexandria; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Neva Hengtgen of Jeffers; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Theresa Holck; step-mother, Nellie Holck; and wife, Helen Holck. Blessed be the memory of Leonard "Buzz" Holck.
