Jean C. Bohlman
Madison-Jean C. Bohlman, age 79, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Oakwood Village East. Jean was born on December 8, 1931, in Wittenberg Wisconsin, the daughter of Gustav and Annie (Kobs) Zeinert. Jean graduated from Wittenberg High School and attended two years at UW Wausau. She entered the Army in 1950 where she worked at the Pentagon as a cryptologist. She was honorably discharged in 1953. While living in Madison, she worked out of the house for the State of Wisconsin as a home typist for two years. On June 30, 1956 was united in marriage to David Bohlman at the St. Paul's Lutheran church in Wittenberg. After they were married they lived in Merrill, Wisconsin for seven years and then moved to Eau Claire. In 1964 they moved to Madison, WI. They lived on the West side for 44 years before moving to Oakwood Village East in 2009. She is survived by her husband, David of Madison, daughter: Elizabeth Naughton (Bob) of Chanhassen, MN, sons: Daniel (Ann) of Argyle, WI. and Thomas (Peggy) of Madison WI.; twin brother, Jack (Jean) Zeinert of Wausau, and six grandchildren. trelow. Jean was a faithful member of The Church of the Living Christ, Lutheran Church in Madison. She committed her life to raising her family and was very proud of her children and grandchildren. After David's retirement, she and David went on many cruises. She enjoyed golfing and bowling. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing computer games, doing jigsaw puzzles and was very proud of doing the New York Times crossword puzzle in ink. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 15, at Tree of LIfe Chaple at Oakwood Village East, with the Rev. Daniel Kowert officiating. A visitation will be held one-half hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date in Birnamwood, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to either the Oakwood Foundation or "The Church of the Living Christ," Madison. The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of Oakwood Village Knoll for their exceptional care.
