Daniel Lee Minion was born on July 12, 1949 in Mt. Lake, Minnesota to the late Wesley and Arsella (Harder) Minion. He received his education in the Mt. Lake Public Schools; graduating in the Class of 1968. He then furthered his education at Jackson Vocational Technical Institute in Mechanics. On June 9, 1968, Dan was first united in marriage to Alice Johnson at Kansas Lake Church in the Butterfield/Odin area and later to Donna Lober. Both of these marriages were later dissolved. He then married Debra Lemickson on July 11, 1987 at the American Lutheran Church in Windom. Dan and Deb made their home outside of Windom. In 1978 Dan began to work for the Cottonwood County Highway Department as shop supervisor until retiring in 2008. Just before retiring Dan began to work for Fortune Transportation. He continued working for them after his retirement. He also helped Bruce Nagorske with his farming operation. Dan was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom. He will be remembered for many things in life including his love of fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking, playing with all of his toys, four-wheeling; being Deb's "handyman", and spending time with his family, especial...[more]

his grandsons. On April 29, 2011, Dan passed away unexpectedly at his home in rural Windom at the age of 61 years. Dan is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Debra Minion of Windom; three children, James Moyer and his wife, Gwen, of Estherville, IA; Ginger McNab and her husband, Brett, of Brewster; Waylon Arndt and his wife, Leesa of Windom; four grandchildren; mother-in-law, Beatrice Lemickson of Windom; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Minion of Mt. Lake Dan is preceded in death by his parents. Blessed be the memory of Daniel Lee Minion.
