MRS. BARBARA A. ACKERET Mrs. Barb Ackeret, of Hollybrook Lane in Saukville, passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Monday, January 17, 2005. She was 51 years old. Barb was born in Merrill, Wisconsin on November 16, 1953, daughter of Henry and Bernice Murphy Mitchell. On September 30, 1972 she was united in marriage with William Ackeret at Divine Word Catholic Church in Cedarburg. Barb worked at Jackson Machinery in Port Washington for about 10 years before taking a job in International Sales at Gehl Company in West Bend. She has worked there for the last three years. Mrs. Ackeret was very involved in the community, serving for nine years on the Port Washington - Saukville School Board and on Saukville's Village Board of Zoning Appeals. She was a "go-getter" and took pride in not only getting things done, but getting them done right. She was a strong advocate for the handicapped students in the district and participated in many activities with area handicapped children. She is further survived by her parents-in-law Stanley and Joyce Ackeret of Nekoosa, 3 sisters-in-law: Sherry (Stan) Richards of Little Kohler, Barbara (Craig) Cartwright of Broken Arrow, OK and Nancy (Steve) Crook of Saukville, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. She is preceded in death by her father Henry Mitchell and a brother-in-law Mike Ackeret. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 20th, 7PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave. (Hwy 33 & LL) in Port Washington. Father Allan Sommer will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home Thursday from 3PM until time of services at 7PM.
