Edna Daggett was born on October 30, 1917, in Comfrey, Minnesota to the late John J. and Mabel S. (Tomblin) Lenzen. She received her education in the Comfrey Public Schools; graduating in the Class of 1935. On November 26, 1937, Edna was united in marriage to John T. Daggett in Estherville, Iowa. They became the parents of four sons. In 1940, Edna and John opened their own grocery store in Windom called Daggetts Grocery and then moved to their Fourth Avenue location where they remained until selling their store in 1973. On December 27, 1980, John passed away. After his death, Edna remained in Windom until moving to Cambridge, Minnesota almost three years ago to be closer to her sons. Edna lived at the Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge where she received excellent care until passing away on Saturday, December 15, 2007, at the wonderful age of 90. At the age of 30, Edna committed to a personal relationship with Christ that lasted a lifetime. She was a longtime, dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Windom where she was involved as a deaconess, a Sunday school teacher, Good News Club, and a prayer warrior. Edna?s grateful family includes her four children, James Daggett and his wife, Carole of Dallas, TX; Ronald Daggett and his wife, Linda of Plymouth; Steven Daggett and his wife, Susan of LaPorte; John Daggett and his wife, Bea of Sandstone; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Mavis Daggett of Windom; Lydia Lenzen of Tracy; and many relatives and friends.
