JOHN R. SPEAKER John Speaker, age 79 years of 400 Patrick Court, Port Washington died at his home on Thursday, December 25, 2003. He was born December 7, 1924 in DePere, son of Dr. George and Mary Bolton Speaker. John served in the United States Air Force during WW II as a nose gunner, flying in 50 missions and remaining a member of the 450th Bomb Squadron.. After returning from the war he attended Marquette University and graduated from St. Norbert College in DePere. On June 18, 1949 he married Patricia Destach in Green Bay. She preceded him in death in 1987. On April 26, 1990 he married Patricia Huntley in Florida. John worked as a sales rep for Vinyl Plastics Inc. in Sheboygan, retiring in 1992 after 18 years. He was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington where he taught Sunday School for many years. He was a die hard Packer fan and also worked as a timer for the Packer organization during the Lombardi era for Milwaukee games, remaining the Packers #1 fan until his death. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 29, 3 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington with Father Joe Haas and Father James Vojtik officiating. Visitation at the Funeral Home Monday from 1-3 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, hospice care, or charity of choice appreciated.
