Wilmer J. Hubing "Bill" Mr. Wilmer "Bill" Hubing, age 92 years of the Town of Belgium, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Cedar Grove Gardens in Cedar Grove, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born in the Town of Belgium on November 25, 1914, son of John Michael "JM" Hubing and Elizabeth Watry Hubing. On May 28, 1938 he married Golda Rock in Lake Church. Bill farmed in the Town of Belgium for his entire life. He also worked as a welder at Rice Pump in Belgium and Simplicity Manufacturing in Port Washington. He was a life-long member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church, a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, and was a former supervisor for the Town of Belgium. His hobbies included working in his shed building windmills for his family and friends. Bill had a knack for creating, building and repairing just about anything, including farm tractors, some of which he built himself. In his later years, with the help of his family, Bill learned how to use the internet for emailing and checking current events. He is further survived by seven grandchildren; Michelle Everett, Michael Gerold, Christine Bowlin, Brenda Peiffer, Bridget Hubing, Andrew Hubing and Holly Hubing, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 sister Martha Hubing of Milwaukee, and 1 sister-in -law Iva Jean Hubing of Port Washington, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Golda, daughter Judith, 6 brothers; Al, Art, Ed, Henry, Eugene and Richard and 3 sisters Anna Petesch, Clara Schroeder and Theresa Hubing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Lake Church with Father Guy Gurath officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Church on Wednesday the 15th from 10 AM until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to the Sisters of Poor Clare, 1175N 300W, Kokomo, IN 46901. The Eernisse Funeral Home of Belgium is assisting the family.
