Phillip Elmer Rappenecker, 90, of Sperry, Iowa died Monday, October 7, 2019 at the Great River Medical Center. Born June 15, 1929 in Burlington, Iowa he was the son of Edward Charles and Lucy Mae (Springsteen) Rappenecker. He married Dorothy Stout on February 26, 1949 in Burlington, she died November 5, 2008. Phil was a dairy farmer for most of his life. He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish ~ St. Mary Catholic Church, Dodgeville. He loved gambling, fishing, coon hunting, driving his golf cart around and spending time with his family. Survivors include three sons; Tom (Laurie) Rappenecker, Bob (Julia) Rappenecker and Kevin (Mary Kay) Rappenecker; four daughters, Luann (Mike) McLaughlin, Cindy (Mike) Walker, Connie Bloom and Jackie (Mitch) Meyers; daughter-in-law Gina Rappenecker; 24 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; one sister Geradine McCartney of Burlington and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son Rick Rappenecker, one daughter Patty Buttell, son-in-law's, Bill Buttell and Terry Bloom, four brothers and two sisters. rch - Dodgeville. The Rev. Dan Dorau will be the celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Dodgeville. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. Friday, October 11th with the family to receive friends following the Rosary until the time of Mass. Memorials have been established for the Burlington Notre Dame Foundation and Divine Mercy Parish - St. Mary Dodgeville.
