Norma Jean Shultz

Jean Shultz, 87, of Allison, Iowa, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019, at Valley View Nursing Home in Greene, Iowa. Norma Jean Pfaltzgraff Shultz was born on November 9, 1931, in rural Dumont, Iowa, to Clinton and Irene (Wendt) Pfaltzgraff. She graduated from Dumont High School and attended Drake University for one year in the nursing program. Jean was united in marriage to Robert Edward Shultz on November 12, 1950, at the Dumont United Methodist Church. Jean was a homemaker, raising two children Denise and Jay, and also worked in Dr. Frank McKean's office for thirteen years. She was a member of the Allison Congregational Church and enjoyed flower gardening, refinishing antique furniture, reading books, decorating her home for the different seasons, watching birds, going on fishing trips to Minnesota, coffee time with her friends and her beloved cat Mr. T. , grandson Dana Shultz (Steph Franzen) and their daughter Embry Jean, sister-in-law Marilyn "Peg" Shultz, niece Karen (Duane) Strempke, and nephews Ted (Rita) Shultz, Tom (Susie) Shultz and David (Cecelia) Shultz. She was preceded in death by her parents Clinton and Irene, husband Robert and brother-in-law Roger "Pete" Shultz. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Valley View staff and St. Croix Hospice who took such good care of Jean this past year. Memorials may be directed to Wilder Park, Allison Public Library and Allison Congregational Church.
