Jessica L. Baker, age 17, of Lorain, passed away on the evening of Thursday October 17, 2019. She was born in Lorain on January 16, 2002 and remained a life-long resident of the city; Jessica was currently a senior at Clearview High School. Previously, she attended St. Anthony of Padua Parochial School, Vincent Elementary School, and Durling Middle School.

She was a member of the Clearview Choir and was also active with the basketball and volleyball teams there. In addition, she played softball for the Clippers as well as for the Lorain Youth League.

A parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Jessica was a former Girl Scout who enjoyed children and was looking extremely forward to becoming an aunt in November of this year. Additional interests included babysitting, crafting, spending time at the beach, and taking care of her pet dogs.

She is survived by her  mother and step-father Victoria and Kris Wachholz of Lorain, father Lee Edward Baker, I of Lorain, brothers Lee Edward Baker, II,  (Angelina Linger), Mason Baker and Jaxon Baker all of Lorain, Joey Wachholz of Sheffield Lake, and  "sister" Haley Rivera of Lorain. lude her paternal grandmother Kathy Blewitt of Lorain, paternal grandfather Daniel Baker of Lorain, maternal step grandmother Genie Wachholz of Amherst, uncles Richard (Yolanda) Szabo,  David (Melanie) Szabo, and Tony Baker, and aunt Jodi (Brian) Baker. She also leaves cousins Alexzys, Xavier, Mason, Richard Aaron, Megan, Jenna, and Jacob Szabo, Elijah Rodriquez, Gracie Linger, Carlee, Kylee, and Tonyiana Baker, Shaun Harrington, and additional Baker cousins Chloe, Anna, and Little Danny.

Jessica was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Janet Mitock in 2018, paternal grandfather David Szabo in 2015, paternal step grandfather David Wachholz in 2017, and aunt Stacey Harrington in 2012..
