KEITH E. SCHIMKE Mr. Keith Schimke, of Fairview Drive in Port Washington, found peace on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at West Allis Memorial Hospital.  He was 77 years old.  Keith was born in New London on February 25, 1933, son of Ervin and Leona Fecker Schimke. He was united in marriage with Patricia Keegan on August 12, 1961 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richland Center.  The couple moved to Port Washington in 1962 and Keith started teaching at Port Washington High School.  Mr. Schimke taught mathematics until his retirement in 1993. His wife preceded him in death in 2002.  Keith was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington.  He enjoyed travel, movies and fishing and was passionate about spending time with his grandchildren and family.  His commitment to teaching and helping others continued even after his 30+ years at PWHS.  He tutored kids and volunteered financial services for many years beyond his school teaching.  He also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the group “Friends”.   Keith is survived by his 5 children: Laurie (Jay) Killinger of West Bend, Susan (Tim Newcomer) Schim...[more]

of Redding, CA, Beth (Sean) Rusch of Cedarburg, Mike (Jackie) of Sun Prairie and Tom (Dawn) Schimke of Port Washington.  He is further survived by 13 grandchildren: Micaela, Elise, TJ, Eli, Megan, Sam, Emily, Katie, Ben, Nathan, Morgan, Zach and Jenna, as well as his sister Darlene Rogers of Neenah.  Also surviving are his special companion Dana Rogers of Rockford, IL, nieces, nephews, other relatives, former students and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia and his sister Cordell Stilen.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, April 23rd, leaving from the Eernisse Funeral Home at 6PM going to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 403 Johnson St., Port Washington, for mass at 6:30 PM.  Father Tom Lijewski will officiate.  He will be laid to rest beside his wife in the parish cemetery the following day.  The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, on Friday from 3-6PM.
