Kathy Caven Jacoby age 54 of Swisher Iowa and formerly of Maquoketa Iowa died Wednesday morning November 192003.0 at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids Iowa as the result of complications from Alzheimer's Disease.



Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday November 22 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Friday November 212003.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery rural Maquoketa Iowa.



Kathy Caven Jacoby was born on February 25 1949 in Clinton Iowa to Samuel P. Caven and Mary E. (Hanson) Caven. She was a 1967 graduate of Maquoketa Community High School. She then attended Clinton Community College and later graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education. She married Larry Williams in 1971 in Maquoketa Iowa. They divorced. She later married Charles G. Jacoby on June 10 1984 in Swisher Iowa.

Iowa City as a pre-school teacher and later as a customer service representative for Iowa State Bank in Iowa City until 1985. Upon her marriage to Charles they built a greenhouse and they grew tomatoes for three years.



She had been a volunteer at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. She loved flowers dogs- especially cocker spaniels music art and angels. She loved the land and fields in Jackson County. She enjoyed singing and had participated in drama and cheerleading in high school. She also loved her grandparents very much.



She is survived by: her husband- Charles Jacoby of Swisher IA; her parents- Sam & Mary Caven of Baldwin IA; a sister- Marcia(Mrs. Wayne) Whitman of Grand Mound IA; 4 brothers- John(Gloria) Caven of Maquoketa IA Kenny(Sherryl) Caven of Maquoketa IA Neil Caven of Maquoketa IA & James(Shelia) Caven of Wood Heights MO; & many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents & a nephew- Jeff Caven.



In Lieu of Flowers a Kathy Caven Jacoby Memorial Fund has been established.
