LEO  A.  BOEHNLEIN  Leo Boehnlein, age 86 of Sheboygan, formerly of Milwaukee and Oostburg, died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Harmony Living Center in Sheboygan.  He was born April 29, 1923 in Kingsley, MI, son of Oliver and Frances Poker Boehnlein. On June 25, 1949 he married Bernadine Mueller at St. Elizabeth Church in Milwaukee. Leo worked as a technical reviewer for the Internal Revenue Service and later moved to a farm in Oostburg where he raised strawberries. She preceded him in death in 2004.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church.  He was very active in the National Hemophilia Foundation which is now part of the Blood Center of Southeastern Wisconsin.  He was also a member of the National Treasury Employees Union and the National Active and Retired Field Employees Association.  He is survived by six children Kathleen Boehnlein of  Lake Worth, FL, Steven Boehnlein of Riverside, CA, Albert (Dana) Boehnlein of Ypsilanti, MI, Lawrence (Teresa) Boehnlein of Milwaukee, Lorita Higgins of Sheboygan and Kc “Cindy” (Paul Leland) Starbuck of Tomahawk, WI, one foster son Tom Headley of Sheboygan, nine gran...[more]

ildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, his sister Marge (the late Ralph) Blaubach of Belgium, his brother Norman (the late Mary Ann)  Boehnlein of Antigo, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 24, 11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Lake Church, with Father Guy Gurath officiating.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Friends may call at the CHURCH Monday from 9-11 AM.  The Eernisse Funeral Home in Belgium is assisting the family with arrangements.
