Susan C. Kenny\r\n \r\nSusan Kenny always wanted to write the great American novel. Instead, her life resembled it.\r\n \r\nMs. Kenny, of Upper Forest Beach Road in the Town of Port Washington, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Columbia St. Mary’s – Ozaukee Campus in Mequon after a short illness. She was 61 years old. \r\n \r\nSusan was born in Milwaukee on October 22, 1948, the daughter of Edwin and Celia Palarski Kenny.\r\n \r\nAfter graduating from John Marshall High School, she earned a philosophy degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She took classes at Columbia University in New York, spent a year at the Sorbonne in Paris, and earned a master’s degree from New York University. While working on her Doctorate, Susan decided teaching was not to her liking. She was a long time financial planner for Kidder-Peabody, A.G. Edwards and Wachovia-Wells Fargo in Mequon. \r\n \r\nOn June 2, 1998, Ms. Kenny married Dennis Klopp in Bayfield, Wisconsin. \r\n \r\nSusan’s life was rich and varied. , Susan flew out to Los Angeles, stayed with a Pulitzer Prize winner in music and met the conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Upon her return, her and Dennis went trout fishing in Northern Michigan. Stopping for a breath, they went to the Juke Joint in Clarksdale, Miss., dancing to a one-man-band whose guitar was made of a cigar box and broom handle. In the last year, Susan was the main character in a book of fiction written by a friend in grad school. Susan and Dennis had friends around the world.\r\n \r\nMs. Kenny is survived by her husband, Dennis Klopp of the Town of Port Washington, 2 brothers: James (Linda) of River Hills, WI and Thomas (Peggy) of Dallas, TX. She is further survived by her mother-in-law Mildred Klopp of Port Washington, sister-in-law Barbara (Vince) Thill of Random Lake, five brothers-in-law: Jeffery Klopp of Port Washington, Kenneth (Jean) Klopp of VA, Randy (Lorie) Klopp of OH, Robert (Julie) Klopp of SC and Kevin Klopp of Port Washington, five nephews, six nieces, and two foster children: George Eppler of Milwaukee and Ann Eppler of Octonto Falls.\r\n \r\nA Memorial Service for Susan is being planned for May 2010 at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington.
