Joseph Fazio Jr. of Port Washington, WI, age 75 passed into the loving arms of Jesus on March 5, 2010 during a peaceful prayer service at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his wife, sisters and many children and grandchildren lifting him to heaven with their thoughts and prayers.   Joseph encountered health setbacks the past few weeks that required open heart surgery.  And, although his strength and "Fazio determination" brought him through the surgery, he could not overcome the impact that the past few weeks took on him.     A man of strong faith in God, he loved the Church and in particular, St. John's Lutheran Church of Port Washington, where he helped found the St. John’s Lutheran Academy.  He served in many different capacities.  Joseph was an "old-school entrepreneur" who spent the majority of his adult career in the car business, a passion he maintained throughout his life.  He was a devoted husband and father and he raised a great family, of which he was very proud.  Joe also believed strongly in his country and free-market capitalism, two topics he was well-schooled in, and he enjoyed engaging in conversations of bot...[more]

nbsp;   Born August 10, 1934 to Joseph Fazio Sr. and LaVerne Schultz Fazio of Chicago, IL.  He married Lorraine Holzwart on October 3, 1953 in Riverside, IL.  He is survived by his wife Lorraine Fazio of Port Washington; children; Nancy Fazio of Port Washington Lori (Glenn) Preisler of Port Washington, Dawn Fazio-Johnson (Patrick) of Denmark, Cindy (Mark) Karrels of Port Washington, Joseph (Lisa) Fazio III of Cedarburg, Jennifer Fazio-Faust (Todd) of Port Washington, William (Jessica) Fazio O`Fallon, MO, and Michael Fazio of Milwaukee.  He is further survived by 16 grandchildren Amy, Shawn, Katie, Sarah, Ryan, Dawn, Christine, Emilee, Patrick, Alli, Erica, Greg, Megan, Joey, Becca, Abby and one great-grandchild Evan.  He is further survived by 3 sisters; Jeanne (Ralph) Battaglia of Glendale, AZ, Lillian (the late Edward) Westphal of Milwaukee, and Judy (James) Lizzio of Chicago, IL., one sister-in-law Marion Fazio of LaGrange, IL, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Leonard (Bud) Fazio.   In addition to his family, he leaves behind his many friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.    Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 12th at 6 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 217 N. Freeman Drive in Port Washington with Pastor John Klieve officiating.  Visitation will take place at the Church on Friday the 12th from 3-6 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John’s Lutheran Church or to a charity of choice suggested.  The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com
