CLARE- Patricia "Pat" R. Martin, 89, of Clare, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society Center, Manson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 22nd , at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Manson with Rev. Lynn Bruch officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery, Clare. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM with a Catholic Daughters of America Rosary at 3:45 PM, Vigil Prayer Service at 6:00 PM, all at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home in Fort Dodge.
Patricia is survived by her daughters; LuAnn Nunn (Curtis) of Cudahy, WI, Denise McCormick of Des Moines, Rae Shepherd (David) of Seattle, WA, Victoria Trujillo (Tom) of Boise, ID, sons; Joe Martin (Kathy) of Clare and Mark Martin of Des Moines. 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lucille (Strait) Savage, husband Emmett "Skip" in 2008., granddaughter Heather Crouse, grandson Arrin Lester Martin, siblings Bernard Savage, Dick Savage, Larry Savage, Isabelle Huber, Joan Weber and Sheila Matthison.

rt Dodge, IA. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1948. Pat then attended University of San Jose in California where she received her teaching certificate. On June 19, 1954, Pat was united in marriage to Emmett Martin at Corpus Christi Church and the couple later established their home on a farm just outside of Clare. For a short time, Pat taught at a country school. Above all else Pat loved being a mother raising her children and being blessed as a grandmother and great grandmother. She attended and graduated from Drake University in Des Moines. Pat was instrumental in forming the Clare Library, was a 4-H Leader, the former Cooking Editor for "Sheep Magazine" and for awhile served as the substitute Postmaster in Clare. She enjoyed reading, sewing and gardening.
