Raymond F. Lapinski Mr. Raymond Lapinski, formerly of Dacada, passed away early Saturday morning, November 13, 2010 at Cedar Grove Gardens where he had resided the last 3 years. He was 89 years old. Ray was born February 23, 1921 in Hamburg, WI, the son of Joseph and Anna Kulas Lapinski. He graduated from Athens High School and UW Madison, and also attended Marquette University, where he was a skilled boxer.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. On October 28, 1950, he was united in marriage with Christine Nowacki in Athens, and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple operated a farm in Dacada for 40 years. Ray was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Dacada and Belgium American Legion Post Post 412.  He enjoyed bowling, fishing, animals, traveling, attending all of his grandchildren’s school activities and spending time with family. He is further survived by 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law Herbert (Mary) Nowacki of Sheboygan and Norbert Nowacki of Athens, sisters-in-law: Anna Lapinski of Marshfield, Betty (Jake) Rogaczewski of Athens, Helen (Delmar) Dassow of Medford, Patsy (Earl) Sticka of Chilton and Helen Nowacki of Menomonee, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Anna and his siblings: Leona Zigman, Eleanore Powers and John, Chester and Edward Lapinski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6PM on Tuesday, November 16th at Our Lady of the Lakes, St. Nicholas Chapel in Dacada. Ray will be laid to rest at St. Nicholas Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at St. Nicholas Chapel from 3-6PM on Tuesday, November 16th. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Belgium is assisting the family with arrangements.
