Bobby Joe Norris

Bobby Joe Norris of Buda, Texas passed away at the age of 87. He was born October 25, 1932 in Crosbyton, Texas to Owen Griffin Norris and Delma Thornhill Norris. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Helene Norris and sister, Sandra Kay (Norris) Lacki of Benbrook. Bobby served his country honorably as a member of the 140th tank battalion during the Korean Conflict and was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, The United Nations Service Medal, The Korean Presidential Citation and the National Defense Service Medal. After leaving active duty, he served 8 years in the US Air Force Reserves. During his time in the service, he became skilled in electronics operation and repair, becoming a military instructor and leading to civilian career in electronics with the Federal Government and Motorola. Bobby was an expert in the rites and rituals of the Masonic Lodge and was instrumental in the training of Masons across the state. ll lodges in District 52. Bobby Joe as also a great friend and neighbor who always did what he could to help others. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Graveside services will be held at Onion Creek Masonic Cemetery on Wednesday, December 11, 2019.
