Ruth H. Runkel

  RUTH H. RUNKEL Ruth Runkel, age 88 years of Port Washington, passed away Thursday evening, February 24, 2011 at Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington where she had been a patient for the past several months.  She was born July 27, 1922 in Port Washington, daughter of Edward and Dora Maechtle Runkel.  She attended nursing school in Freeport, IL and worked at various Veterans Administration Hospitals until coming to St. Alphonsus Hospital in Port Washington, working as a surgical nurse until retiring.  She was a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing and watching the Brewers and Packers.  She is survived by four nieces Barbara (Harold) Aagerup of Port Washington, Jeanne (Tom) Faust of Omro, Judy (Joe) Barnett of Ripon, JoAnn  Runkel of Toronto, CN, two nephews Alan (Lila) Runkel of Brookfield and Bob Runkel of Monterey, CA.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Edward  Runkel and her niece Holly Runkel.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 3 PM at Grand Ave. United Methodist Church, 505 W.
