Mr. Lamont Bruggink of Cedar Grove, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at Sunnyridge Nursing Home in Sheboygan. He was 74 years old. Lamont was born April 27, 1936 in Oostburg, the son of Jacob and Jessie Tenpas Bruggink. After graduating from Oostburg High School in 1954, he proudly served his country in the US Army.  Lamont worked for Bruggink’s Incorporated in Oostburg and later in the maintenance department at Spiller Springs in Sheboygan. On April 4, 1959, he was united in marriage with Karen TenHaken in Cedar Grove. She preceded him in death in 1987. On August 26, 1988, he was united in marriage with Helen (nee Schreurs) DuMez in Oostburg. Mr. Bruggink was a member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove, where he was involved as a Deacon and usher and served on the Board of Trustees and the home video ministries for the elderly. He enjoyed tinkering, camping and hiking at Harrington Beach. Lamont is survived by his wife Helen of Cedar Grove, three children: Joel (Rene) Bruggink of Oostburg, Kaye (Mike) Heinen of Waldo and Todd (Nancy) Bruggink of Plymouth and two step-children: Terry (Deb) DuMez of Cedar Grove and Kay (Terry) Hoitink of DePere. ...[more]

is further survived by 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Carol (Herb) Hengst of Oostburg, 2 brothers-in-law: Gary (Pam) TenHaken of Cedar Grove and Allen Schreurs of Fond du Lac, his aunt Edith Bruggink of Sheboygan Falls, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Karen, brother-in-law and sister-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 6:30PM on Thursday, March 24 at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 136 W. Union Ave. in Cedar Grove. Pastor Ronald Beabout will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Cedar Grove with military honors. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 4-6:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Belgium is assisting the family with arrangements.
