Ruby J Elick

Ruby J. Elick, 75, of Forked River, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 19, 2015. Born in Brookville, PA, she lived most of her life in Forked River. Ruby worked as a Senior Clerk for the Ocean County Board of Social Services for many years before retiring. She was proud to have been a US Navy Veteran; she enjoyed traveling, watching classic movies on VHS tapes, and riding her Honda scooter around the neighborhood. Ruby loved living on the water, she looked forward to sharing a good meal with her family, especially fresh clams on the half shell. Ruby was predeceased by her parents, James and Ella Smith, and her former husband Joseph E. Elick Sr. She is survived by her 3 children and their spouses; son Joseph Jr. and Paula; son John Carl and Lisa; and daughter Kimberly and Richie. Ruby also leaves behind her companion and best friend Chet Nowicki; sister Mildred, and her 7 grandchildren; Jackie, Jaylene, Jennifer, Stefanie, Jessica, Tiffany, and Justin.
