John DeMerlis, 87 of Ambler PA., died Thursday, March 10, 2011 in the Artman Home in Ambler after a brief stay
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Alexander and Marianna (nee Orzani) DeMerlis. John was a Decorated World War II veteran serving on the Burma Road as One of Merrill's Marauders during the Asiatic Pacific Campaign.
He was a Route Salesman, employed by Martin Century Farms Dairy, Lehigh Valley Dairy and Strohman Bakeries prior to his retirement in 1989
Mr. DeMerlis was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Ambler.
He is survived by his Wife of 62 years Mary J. (nee Rocchino) DeMerlis, His sons John W. DeMerlis and his wife Cindy of Lansdale, Christopher C. DeMerlis of Flourtown, and James A. DeMerlis and his wife Ann of Mississauga, Ontario Canada. He is the loving grandfather of Ryan, Caitlin, Kelsey, Robert, Allyson, Kyle and Matthew. He is the brother of Theresa DeMerlis of Norristown, PA and the late Mario DeMerlis who died in WW II.
