Funeral Services for Mr. James Earl Hooks, age 91, of the Hardys Chapel Community will be conducted 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Rev. Craig Green will officiate. Burial to follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday morning from 11 a.m. until time of services at Speck Funeral Home. Mr. Earl Hooks passed from this life on Friday morning, December 13, 2019 from the NHC Healthcare in Cookeville. He was born in Overton County, Tennessee on January 29, 1928 to the late Grover & Virgie Dickerson Hooks. Earl was a member of the Shiloh Church. He loved his wife and family. He enjoyed raising Beagles & Trading them. Earl also enjoyed going to Church and doing church work. Earl leaves behind his loving wife of 73 years, Mrs. Gladys Thompson Hooks of the Hardys Chapel Community; son, Phillip Hooks & wife Kelly of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Brandon Hooks of Kansas City, MO, and Kristen Hooks of Knoxville, TN; brother, Buck Hooks & wife Elanor of Livingston, TN.
