Kevin C. Nash was born March 6, 1932, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Cornelius and Katherine (Halligan) Nash. He attended Corpus Christi Academy in Fort Dodge and then went on to attend Loras College in Dubuque. He served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge as a Corporal. Kevin was united in marriage to Charlotte "Skip" Nash on September 3, 1955. He continued his education at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and completed his Doctorate of Dental Science Degree. He and his family moved to Algona in 1961 where he practiced dentistry for 39 years. He was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Lions Club and Toastmasters. Kevin was a 4th Ward Councilman and a member of the Planning and Zoning Committee for the city of Algona. He was also active in many professional organizations, serving as president and trustee of the Fort Dodge District Dental Society and president of the Iowa Dental Association. Kevin loved music, humor and most tenderly of all, his family. Kevin passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. He was 79. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Skip; beloved children Constance (Dave) Nelson of Waconia, MN; Mary Long of Sikeston, MO; Marty (Tim) Forgy of Columbia, MO; Sue (Paul) Lenz of Sutherland; Kevin T. (Linda) Nash of O'Fallon, MO; Cammie (Bert) Hill of Colbran, CO; cherished grandchildren, Dennis, Andrew, Ellyn, Katie, Kelsi, Megan, Jonathan, Erin, Molly, Jarrett Caralynn and great-grandson, Noah. He is also survived by his sister, Marion Byrtus of Virginia Beach, VA; brothers-in-law, Harold Condon of Elk River, CA; Phil Joselyn of Des Moines; sisters-in-law, Dudley Bednar of Bloomington, MN and Carol Joselyn of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Con and Kate; sisters, Irene Maggio, Kady Condon, Grace Nash OSF; brothers, Darrell, Francis and Father Tom Nash. He grieved the sudden losses of his son, David Matthew Nash and grandson, Michael Nash Carsten.
