Marguerite Ann Dale

A Memorial Service and a Celebration of Marguerite's Life will be held at a later date.


Marguerite Ann Dale passed away Friday, December 27, 2019, in Algona, Iowa at the age of 92.

Marguerite was born on July 18, 1927, in Cylinder, Iowa, to Francis and Mary (Waldron) Gappa. Married to Richard L. Dale for 65 years until his death in 2014. The couple were blessed with four children.

Marguerite graduated from Silver Lake Consolidated High School in Ayrshire, Iowa in 1945. After graduation, she moved to Mankato, MN, where she met Dick. The couple were married in Emmetsburg, IA on November 23, 1949. They moved to Santa Monica, CA, when Dick joined the Lawrence Welk Orchestra. They eventually settled in Northridge, CA, where they raised their four children. A loving and devoted wife and mother, Marguerite was well known for her distinctive laugh. She was an excellent cook and an active supporter of, and volunteer for, her children's many activities.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Mary Gappa, husband, Richard "Dick" Dale and brother, Robert Gappa. Marguerite is survived by her sister, Mary Estelle Godfredson, her son, Richard II (Lisa) Dale, daughter, Denise (Anthony) Cooper, son, Daniel (Wendy) Dale, son, David (Vicky) Dale, grandson Ryan (Courtney) Dale, granddaughters, Rachael, Ava and Sasha Dale, and great-granddaughter Ellie Dale.
