Anne Russell

Anne Russell was born on June 6, 1917 to the late Harm Daniel and Anna (Harms) Korfe. She received her education in country school in the Windom area. On October 20, 1939, Anne was united in marriage to Perry Lee Russell (the love of her life) in Windom, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with four children, Larry, LeAtrice, Pamela and Patrick. After marriage, Anne was first a mom and in her spare time, worked in the lunch room as a cook at Winfair Elementary School in Windom until she retired in 1997 at the age of 80. Anne was raised with very little but always made due with what she had. She was a charter member of the Windom Assembly of God Church where she was very active as a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Deaconess, Women's Ministries, music ministry and youth activities coordinator. In 2001, Anne became a resident of the Sogge Good Samaritan Society-Windom and remained there, receiving excellent care, until passing away peacefully at the age of 90. Anne is preceded in death by her parents; husband Perry on March 20, 1973; two brothers, Raymond and Wesley Korfe; and two sisters, Margaret Junker and Theresa Riffle.
