Marilyn Nathan Cohen passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Houston on Valentine's Day, 1941 and was lifelong member of Congregation Beth Israel. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Louis and Dora Schoenmann, Max and Rebecca Nathan and her parents Charles and Harriet Nathan.Marilyn married Ronald J. Blask, now deceased, and they had a son, Richard Blask. She then married her best friend, Gilbert Cohen and they were together for 36 wonderful years. When she and Gilbert retired in 2002 they started a new life together - one of fun, ballroom dance, volunteer activities, travel and doing virtually everything together. She was a dedicated volunteer for The Gathering Place at Beth Israel, devoting weeks of time every month to be sure that everything went smoothly and that volunteers and guests alike had a good time. Marilyn loved people; she loved making them laugh, as her many friends would attest. Memorial service will be held at Noon, Wednesday, March 9, 2016, Congregation Beth Israel, 5600 North Braeswood, Houston, 77096.
