Ann Wachsberg Blum, 89, died Monday, January 15th 2018 at St Luke's Hospital in Houston, Texas following a long illness. She is preceded in death by her husband, Morris Blum, and her children, Michael and Glenda Blum. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Tina and John Cohen, grandchildren, Jason, Eric and Michelle Cohen, brother and Sister-in-Law Sol and Flora Wachsberg, Sister-in-Law Vera Blum, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Czarnow, Poland, Ann was taken away by the Nazis at the age of 12. A survivor of the Holocaust, she immigrated to the United States in 1949 with her brothers, Charles, David, and Sol. In 1950,  Ann and Morris reunited in New York City,  married in Pittsburgh and made their way to Beaumont, Texas where they opened their first furniture store, Blum's Fine Furniture, Co. Later, they moved to Houston to find a larger Jewish community for their children and to grow the business into the Houston landmark and international company that it is today. buting to the community, spending time with her friends and family, and designing beautiful interior spaces. She served on the board of the Holocaust Museum, was a member of Beth Yeshurun and The Westwood Country Club, and lifetime donor to the Houston Holocaust Museum and The Jewish Federation. Whether she entertained royalty or a friend next door, she treated everyone with the same amount of love and respect. She will be greatly missed.
