Waunakee- Edward Walton Green, age 68, passed away on Thursday June 2, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center in Fitchburg with his loving family at his side. He was born in Baraboo on December 10, 1942 to Walton and Phyllis (Barron) Green. He graduated from Madison East High School in 1961. Following school he joined the Navy and served from 1964 to 1966. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Margaret Derr. He was employed at Oscar Mayer for 27 years and also worked for the Sun Prairie Postal Service as a rural carrier for 9 years. Ed was a very family orientated man. He put everyone else before himself. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, and especially vacations with his family. He also enjoyed teaching his youngest daughter, Maggie, softball. Survivors include his wife Margaret, three daughters; Shelley Meyer, Jennifer (Gilbert) Leal, and Maggie Green; five grandchildren Brittany and Jacob Meyer, and Gabriel, Michael and Madeline Leal; one great-grandchild Layla Martin; one brother Mike Daly; and three sisters, Donna (Gene) Hendrickson, Brenda (Jim) Steckling and Marsha (Rick) Kneebone, also his mother-in-law Genevieve Derr and many nieces and nephews.
